About us

The company is a family business run by Jon Long with his father Derek involved whilst Jon’s partner Michelle takes an administrative role in between chasing around after their 5 year old son, Elliot. Growing up in Tabley Jon has not strayed far from the family home with the business base being in Tabley, where both the business and Jon are very much involved in the local community.

Jon served his formative years as an apprentice at Reasheath College with WAP Lawton and sons LTD whom are recognised within the industry as one of the leading landscape contractors within the Northwest.

Jon then found his passion for trees and the rural environment as a whole when he took on a role with The University of Manchester as an assistant forester before moving into the employment of The Crown Estate where he took on a position involving overseeing all of the varied aspects of rural estate management. It was from there that Jon felt he had acquired all the knowledge, experience and expertise to move from the comfortable umbrella of established organisations to offer his services to the wider world in his own right– in February 2014 the Cheshire G and B acorn was planted.
